Project Description: Civil War Gunboat – Tensioned Fabric Canopy Structure
The existing roof structure was removed after the installation of a temporary structure. The final cover is a tensioned fabric roof structure on a system of 20” steel masts and tensioned cable supports. The roof is approximately 264’x 187’. Foundations for the masts and struts consists of 103 – 24” auger cast piles and 29 concrete pile caps. New lighting, ventilation fans, and linear thermal fire detection system were also installed in and around the Cairo.
